The Travel Bug

I've loved Laurie's writing ever since I ran across her on the internet - I don't even know how long ago. She's such a fabulous role model in the whole-changing-your-life thing. I especially admire her willingness and ability to travel alone. She's made travel a priority in her life and has made the necessary financial sacrifices to make that happen. She's a real hero of mine.

  1. I know a woman who has travelled to over 25 countries all by herself. She too made the sacrifices needed to work it all out. Amazing.

  2. I love her, too! In fact, I met her at a yarn shop while she was promoting her book.

I have not been following her blog lately, thanks for the link!

  3. I forgot to say that I would go anywhere, I mean, anywhere, by myself. I went to Eze, France by myself while we were on our cruise because no one else felt like going. I had a wonderful time and now know I would love solo travel.

  5. I missed her on the book tour - I can't recall if she was in my area or not. I knew she was in yours.

Here's to travel - with or without companions!

  6. Geez, I can never get my thoughts together sometimes. Did you take that picture? Standing there, taking the picture, it must have been awesome! I want to go to Ireland someday :)

  7. Tena,

Bick took the picture. The wind was howling and we were freezing! Around us there were babies crying and it was miserable, but memorable.

  8. Ahhh. Vacations. I love that part of them, the sounds, the smells, the stinky bathrooms! At least when you look at the pictures you can focus on the beauty.
