iPod iNspiration

I'm assuming that the vast majority of us are iPod zombies. What podcasts do you listen to that you find inspiring? Actually, what movies, books and other things do you turn to for personal inspiration? I'm in need of some inspiration, both from the personal-growth and the personal-shrinkage variety.

Take good care of yourself. Be kind to others. Actively seek inspiration.

  3. I like the storyboard podcosts from NPR and also This American Life. Both can be poignant and sometimes funny!

  4. I am a member of Audibles and download a variety of novels to listen to which I use at the gym. When out running, I love loud music, that I sing to (I don't care about the funny looks).

  5. I like Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Looking forward to what others say as well.

Hope you find the inspiration you're looking for.

  6. Oh, this is a great question. I can't wait to see what others say.

I listen to Pandora when I'm biking. I can create different "channels" and always get a good mix for whatever my mood is at the moment.

I listen to a knitting podcast called KIPping it Real. This is the only knitting one I like so far.

I used to listen to Jillian Michaels podcast but she doesn't do that anymore :( They were really good.

Hope you find something that helps you get your groove on!

  7. For physical shrinkage - I listen to the Podcasts for Running series. Depending on what I am doing, I can choose the song by the BPM and either cruise through a walk, or slam through it with the higher beats.

For Personal shrinkage - not sure if this one is truly what you are asking for, but there is also a podcast I found called Inside Out Weight Loss. I've just started it so not 100% sure if I will actually like it but so far what I've listened seems to have some potential. Like the title says, "Inside Out" so she has you doing some digging internally.
I also listen to Wayne Dyer's Power of Intention from the HayHouse Radio website - there are all kinds of personal inspiration podcasts on there.

  8. I am also a member of Audible (like FatFree) and I download Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hanh and anyone who I can listen to who sounds like they are conscious or have a lot of consciousness in their life and who I can listen to for hours so I can go unconscious listening to them.
    Pema is wonderful.

The prices are reasonable if you join at Audible's lower rate special for 3 months. The other day I downloaded for free, a 6 hour retreat by Thich Nhat Hanh called Ultimate Dimension. It cost me one Audible credit which they automatically give you once per month. If I had paid for it, it would have cost me $34.28.

and of course What Have You Done Today? (Heather Small)

  11. I come HERE for inspiration... Hmm!

I do love my iphone/pod, but have yet to learn the ropes of the whole podcast and books. I need to look into that. What a concept.

We'll try this for a while.
