What Women Want

So Pebbles has been pestering me about what I want for Mother's Day.  She says she's drawing a blank this year.  Historically, my response to any such question re:  birthday, anniversaries, etc.  was always "Oh, don't worry about me".  And while I really, truly don't care AT.THAT.TIME, I find that such a response sets me up for being taken for granted in the future and I begin to resent that.  (Not from Pebbles - she's always very good).

And this year, I'm drawing a blank - so help me out....

What should I ask for?  I feel comfortable asking for something up to $75 dollars.....

  1. For me I always love the thought of being together on the holiday so maybe a girls day out (pedicure, lunch, shopping or stuff like that).

    1. Time together is my favorite gift, too. She's already fixing brunch for me and her grandmother on Sunday.

  3. A second bike dress!! Another camelback - the one for just water. Seat pack for carrying tools or spare Co2 cartridges. An afternoon of landscape services so someone else can come out and beat the viney stuff to the ground. A coupon book for carwashes for a year!!

    1. Angela, the smaller camelback is a great idea! I've already got the seat pack with tubes and cartridges.

Ha! My gift to her is usually car detailing :-)

    1. That's a good idea - we just bought more Groupons to the spa we just went to a few weeks ago. I could just add a scrub or massage to that day when it comes!

  6. A spa day! :0)

What about an adventure you've been wanting to do, but never thought you could/would do... sky diving or hang gliding or something like that?! Seems like Groupon has been having those kind of deals like crazy here.

    1. Spa day is on the list! Hmmm, I don't know about sky diving, but I'm sure there is something that I could drag her along with me - if I didn't want to go alone....

  7. How about just a day with your daughter?? Let her buy lunch maybe some little trinket you come across you would like but perhaps not normally buy for yourself.....sounds like a perfect day to me

    1. Deb - a day with her is my absolute favorite thing - just hanging out like we used to - but I hate to take up her scarce free time.

  8. Biking clothes (as opposed to biker clothes, lol!).

    1. Cycling stuff will probably win out - but I do loves me some black leather ;-)

  9. Mani/pedi, massage, biking togs - all great ideas!

Actually a saddle wedge, CO2 gizmo & cartridges, tire removal tools & a patch kit and a lesson at the LBS would be cool too. A wedge big enough to carry a spare tube never hurt either!

    1. I've got the wedge, co2 stuff and spare. I think I do need some tools - and I could use some private tutoring, for sure.

While it's very uncool, I might ask for lights, as there is a night riding group here that would be fun to join.....

We'll try this for a while.
